The most authentic (and ONLY) 1/6 scale WWII U.S. Navy "Beachmaster"
armband ever made! Navy Beachmasters were officers responsible for operations
along a given section of beach, from the shore up to the high water mark.
All Beachmasters were Navy personnel, but were completely outfitted in Army
gear during landing operations! Often, the only tell-tale signs indicating
their Navy affiliation were the bold, white "Beachmaster"
armbands and the "U.S.N." lettering spray-painted on their
helmets.
The primary jobs of Navy Beachmasters was the coordination of troops on the beaches and communications with command vessels at sea. Beachmasters were in charge of communication specialists utilizing signal flags, blinker lights and radios. As Allied troops swarmed ashore on D-Day, the Beachmasters guided them to their next position farther inland, all the while communicating troop progress back to the invasion commanders at sea.
Their dangerous assignemnts regularly required Beachmasters to stay
longer on the beaches than most, leaving them exposed to enemy fire for
great periods of time. Obviously, Navy Beachmasters had to be cool, collected
leaders, who didn't shake up easily, and who could get the job done while
under constant enemy harrassment. Salute and honor these heroes with
